Open Mic at Lions Pride
One of the best open mics anywhere is run by MSA Board Member Scott Woodruff at the Lion’s Pride at 112 Pleasant Street in Brunswick. With a top-of-the-line sound system and a crowd that’s there to hear the music, this venue draws some of Maine’s best talent. Every Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm.
MSA on TV
MSA member Brian Patricks is producing the “Maine Songwriters Presents” series for Great Falls TV. The link to the show’s Youtube Channel is www.youtube.com/
You can watch full episodes at http://www.greatfallstv.net/
If you would like to be considered for one of these shows, contact MSA board member Kevin Ward at kevinward9er@gmail.com
Time to Update your Profile
Have you visited the new MSA website yet at www.mainesongwriters.com? If you have not yet done so you should check it out. You will also need to create a new profile, since none of the old user names and passwords could be migrated from the old site. There is a great deal to explore on the new site, and we still need your help ironing out the kinks in the system. Please send your comments to our webmaster, Will Zell, at willandsarahzell@gmail.com
Songwriting Circles—One of the Best Things Going
MSA currently hosts two songwriting circles each month:
2nd Monday at 75 State Street in Portland
Last Monday at Peter Alexander’s Studio in Bath (contact peter@peteralexander.us)
In addition, Jud Caswell hosts a circle every 3rd Wednesday at Pennell House (5 Middle Street) in Brunswick. All these events start at 7:00 pm. We highly encourage you to participate in one or more of them, as they provide an excellent way to stimulate new ideas and refine material you are working on.
